"Service to All Life with Grace Through All Philosophies"
National InterFaith Council ~ 3rd Annual National Congress ~ "You Are The Light!" October 18, 2008 ~ Scottsdale AZ
~ Opening Invocation ~
"Our Most Divine God, We come to you in the spirit of celebration and thanksgivings. We lift our voice to you in praise and exhortation.
As we begin the meeting of this Congress, we thank you for each and every person who was able to make it here today. We thank you for those who were not able come, but send their love and well wishes.
We ask that as we congregate, may we celebrate those things that bring us together. We seek understanding and patience in all things. We ask that wisdom, mindfulness, kindness, peace and love, sit with us today.
Bless each one of us when we leave this Congress, taking back a joyful spirit to all of our locations...sharing Your love with those we touch. We ask for this in Your name. Amen."
As we opened our 3rd Annual Congress, we welcomed several sustaining members, as well as a number of new ones!
After a delightful time of meeting new friends, and dining on our holistic and humane brunch, our meeting began with our topic, "You Are the Light!"
The topic of our Congress this year was resoundingly accompanied by the members in attendance sharing their stories of "light" and triumph and motivation ~ which were inspiring to all of us there. There were stories of miraculous healings, stories of triumph over less-than-stellar moments, but all in all, stories of motivation and of how we allare making a difference in the world.
This year we instituted our first raffle, with some of our esteemed Council Members not in attendance donating their products as special gifts to those who were. Those who donated were The Gulliver Project, Armand & Angelina, Rev. Agnes Sallet, Chelsea Productions, Jim's Pure Honey, Wisdom Visions, and the Spiritual Network Publishing Company. And we thank them for their gifts!
As always, the Congress ended with our Council Social ~ desserts and drinks ~ along with Geoff Taft playing guitar, Tina Sallet playing box drum, and the group singing together.
We hope to see you here next year for another wonderful day!
